A treasure-appraisal maniac

Chapter 252 Offering to Heaven

The treasure chest was opened, and the eyes of the two young men were completely insufficient.

Lu Fei promised to give each person three pieces, and the two young men were overjoyed and rushed to choose.

As soon as I picked out the jewelry, I was attracted to gemstones the next second.

After choosing the gems, I couldn’t take my eyes away from the watch that was customized a hundred years ago.

A watch is a tool used to show off when picking up girls. If there is a piece of private custom made during the Republic of China, and it is also a private custom made by Yang Yuting, the tycoon of the generation, then the prestige should not be too high!

"elder brother!"

The two young men each held a watch, eagerly waiting for Lu Fei's instructions.

That pitiful little expression was like a child facing delicious food waiting for the parent's order to eat.

"Don't take too many, everyone gets one. Once you make your choice, you can't regret it!" Lu Fei said with a smile.

"yes!"

"Brother, I love you."

"Get out!"

These house deeds and treasure chests have already filled a trolley suitcase, and half of the large drawer of the safe has been taken away.

The remaining Buddha statue is Lu Fei's favorite object.

There are several large boxes of jewelry and jewelry in the Jincheng Baihua Bank vault. No matter how much there is, it is useless if it cannot be sold.

As for watches, there is no comparison between Yang Yuting's collection and his own Puyi watches, and Lu Fei doesn't particularly care.

However, Lu Fei had seen these Buddha statues before, and they were all really good things, which was also the weakness of his current collection.

With these Buddha statues, the collection in this area can be considered small and large-scale.

Lu Fei first got his hands on a golden Buddha that was about twenty centimeters high.

This is a statue of Venerable Supintuo, a disciple of Sakyamuni and one of the eighteen Arhats.

The Arhat sits cross-legged on the lotus platform with his bare feet, pinching magic formulas with his left hand, and holding the Seven Treasures Glazed Pagoda flatly with his right hand.

He has big ears and shoulders, gold rings in his ears, and his eyes are slightly closed with a majestic appearance.

Craftsmanship

It is partially cast from a press mold, which is a typical Yuan Dynasty craft style.

Next, Lu Fei invited five more gold-cast Arhat statues, which were similar in size to the pagoda Arhat. The craftsmanship and coating were exactly the same. They should be objects from the same temple.

Most temples enshrine the Eighteen Arhats, but they are usually made of clay or stone, and some high-end ones also have wood carvings.

The six golden Buddha statues in front of you generally only appear in the underground palace.

I think it must have been the era of warlords' melee. Which temple was stolen from the underground palace, and the golden Arhat was stolen. In the end, six of them fell into the hands of Yang Yuting.

The Sixteen Arhats were popular in the Tang Dynasty. During the Five Dynasties, the number was changed from Sixteen Arhats to Eighteen Arhats.

In the Song Dynasty, the Eighteen Arhats became even more popular.

However, the Yuan Dynasty was the originator of partial casting of gold Buddha statues, so the market price of gold Buddha statues from the Yuan Dynasty was quite terrifying.

Of course, no matter how high the price was, Lu Fei was not prepared to take action.

The six gold-cast Arhat statues were wrapped in high-density sponge and put into the trolley case. One after another, the Buddha statues were brought out, including the white jade Sun Tathagata, the waxy emerald Guanyin statue, etc., each of them was a fine product.

Finally, Lu Fei invited a big guy out.

This is a painted statue of Guanyin. Seeing this statue, Lu Fei's nerves became tense instantly.

The upper part is made of pottery and gold, and the lower part is made of red sandalwood solid wood with double rosettes.

Looking at the carvings and the double lotus seats, there is no doubt that this is a Ming Dynasty Buddha statue with a large opening.

Due to age, most of the exterior patent leather has peeled off.

Even if it doesn't fall off, the color has faded by 70% to 80%.

This is not the most important thing. The reason that makes Lu Fei excited is the four small characters in regular script under the rosette, "Offer to the Heaven".

See

Lu Fei was stunned for five seconds when he heard these four words.

My mind was like a mess, and there were only five words that I was struggling with over and over again.

"How could it be?"

How could it be this Guanyin statue? How could it be this Guanyin statue!

At that time, the entire Manchu Dynasty was looking for this Buddha statue. They never gave up the search for more than two hundred years, but there was still no news.

After the Revolution of 1911, Mr. Sun also looked for it, and so did Lao Yuan.

Feng Guozhang, Yuan Jinkai, Cao Kun, Wu Peifu, and even Zhang Zuolin, the Northeastern king outside the pass, have all looked for him.

But no one could have imagined that this Guanyin statue would be in the hands of Yang Yuting. This is simply incredible.

Speaking of this Buddha statue, there is also a pretty awesome allusion. .??.

In 1398 AD, Ming Taizu Zhu Yuanzhang died, and Zhu Yunwen, his grandson, succeeded him.

Zhu Yuanzhang still had a son, but he gave the country to his grandson. He must have felt aggrieved as a son.

So the next year, Zhu Yuanzhang's most popular son, King of Yan Zhu Di, rebelled from Yanjing.

In the spring of 1402, King Yan's army encountered a strong blockage from the Ming army in Huaibei. They fought hard for more than half a month and suffered numerous casualties, but still could not break through the Ming army's defense line.

Zhu Di heard from local people that the Guanyin Bodhisattva enshrined in the Guanyin Temple in Beiming Mountain was very efficacious.

The next day, he took a bath, changed clothes, and went to Beiming Mountain with his subordinates to worship Buddha.

In front of Guanyin Bodhisattva, Zhu Di made a vow that if he could break through the Ming army's defense lines and capture Stone City within three days, he would rebuild the temple and build a golden body for Guanyin in the future.

Strangely enough, on the night when King Yan came to worship Buddha at the Guanyin Temple in Beiming Mountain, Zhao Yu, the commander-in-chief of the Ming army, suddenly fell ill and died without warning.

General Li Yuanhe, who could not bear the loss of life, led all the generals to defect to Zhu Di.

In this way, the impenetrable defense line collapsed instantly.

From then on, King Zhu Di of Yan conquered Stone City with overwhelming force and ousted his unlucky nephew Jianwen Emperor Zhu Yunwen from power.

Zhu Di firmly believed that the reason why he successfully captured Nanjing was entirely due to the blessing of Guanyin Bodhisattva.

After Zhu Di ascended the throne, in the first year of Yongle, he ordered the royal master Zang Chengru to reshape the pottery gold body, cast a gold medal and place it inside the gold body. He asked the Guanyin Temple in Beiming Mountain to rebuild the temple and send someone to worship him on his behalf. .

Since then, the incense in the Guanyin Temple in Beiming Mountain has been extremely strong. At its peak, people who came to worship could queue up to a length of ten miles.

Speaking of evil, on August 12, 1424, Emperor Yongle Zhu Di passed away.

On the same day, people were surprised to find that the golden statue of Guanyin, which had been worshiped for many years, disappeared out of thin air.

At night, divine fire descended from the sky and burned down the Guanyin Temple, which was once in its heyday.

Since then, people have spread the rumor that the golden statue of Guanyin was worshiped by Emperor Yongle for many years, and that it achieved enlightenment and ascended to enlightenment.

Others say that whoever can find this spiritual golden statue will be blessed by heaven and live forever.

Good guy!

The four words "immortality" are too destructive. No emperor, general or minister would not want to live forever.

Since then, countless dignitaries have tried their best to find this golden statue of Guanyin, but they have failed.

As time goes by, the legend becomes more and more intense.

It's not that you can't find it, it's that you don't have that destiny. Only those who are destined to find it can find it through the grace of heaven. Ordinary people don't even think about it.

The more exaggerated the rumors, the more convinced those big names were, and they searched harder.

Until the Ming Dynasty fell and the Manchus entered the Pass, this legend was no longer a legend, but evolved into a myth.

So the Manchu emperor and various princes during the Republic of China joined the search.
