A Failure's hopeful Journey

The three people were very much at ease with each other and they enjoyed the company. Before heading off to the restaurant they visited some small shops in the vicinity for some casual shopping. While You Zhichi was acting a lot more sensible, You Xi Wang and Celestia were like kids who were looking at everything with starry eyes. You Xi Wang got some small use, such as a hair trimmer that can help him groom himself, an egg-like object which can help the user mend up his shoelaces. The reason he bought all this was that he liked how the appearance of these products was different and some products were even something he could never have thought of.

You Xi Wang held Celestia's small hand and they both looked around excitedly. Soon after the trivia shopping, they reached the entrance of the famed restaurant. A five-floor high building covered in various graffiti stood in front of them. The building was shaped like an oval, entirely covered in glass panels and every glass panel had a different graffiti. Some were abstract while some were classical in style. This display of art was just as unique as the name and the regulations of this place. 

According to what You Xi Wang had learned by searching the Metronet and asking his peer, the first floor was open for all. The second floor was also open for all but it was more costly. The third floor and above were open only for those who could create something new on the spot. The unique invention. The higher floor your membership. Once you successfully invent something new you will forever be a VIP patron of this place. The VIP membership was distributed in three tiers. The lowest level of VIP was Bronze, Silver, and gold.

There was only one Gold class member till now, the owner himself, who came up with this idea. The establishment had a computer placed at the entrance of the building, where the guest would sit down and describe their idea and if possible demonstrate it as well, to help the system assess it more correctly. 

You Xi Wang spoke to his sister, "Big Sis, do we try to put in something or do we go to the normal floors?"

You Zhichi pondered for a while and said, "Well, you do it. Since you can come up with the guitar. You can think of something new too. If it gets us a membership then fine otherwise the normal floors are open anyway. Go on."

Celestia also cheered, "Yes, big brother can do it."

You Xi Wang patted her small head and walked up to the attendant and said, "Excuse me, can I try to put my idea forward?"

The attendant was a red-haired girl, her hair was dyed and tied into a neat bun, she had a pierced lower lip and wore rouge on her eyelids. She was wearing a neat white shirt and a crimson waistcoat. She had a charming figure, worth gazing at. You Xi Wang who had come across women even more beautiful than this attendant was immune to her charm and his gaze was stable and he did not show any covetous intention towards her. 

This attitude of his raised his impression in the girl's eyes. She nodded and led him to the computer where a guest could input their ideas. You Xi Wang sat down on the chair and started operating the computer. He attracted the attention of the passing crowd and some of them stood by to sate their curiosity and watch the result of You Xi Wang's effort. 

Someone in the crowd spoke up, "A few days ago, I came across an invention. It is a musical instrument. I researched and found out that it was created by a high school student. I wonder if this boy is the same as that guy." his casual comment started other people to start speculating about You Xi Wang's invention.

'Yeah, the guitar sounds very pleasant and can be played alone too. My daughter got me to buy it and the smile on her face was worth it." another man spoke.

This man was accompanied by a friend of his who asked, "Jacob, how much does it cost to buy the guitar, My son is also asking me to buy it and I forgot about it. You know about it so you better get me a good deal."

Jacob smiled and said, "It costs 500 silver credits. Although the price seems to be too much, it comes with a spare set of strings, a teaching manual. You can learn to play the guitar by yourself. They also provide you maintenance support for the item for free, this is limited for the next three years. Though they do not cover any superficial damage, they will indeed rectify the basic issues encountered over time. Also, if you are unable to buy it in one go then you can pay in installments. You get some other offers if you buy more expensive models."

His friend said in surprise, "This deal sounds good. I want to hear my boy sing a song one day. Let's go get one after watching this young man."

They nodded and some of the other people who heard them could not help but ask about this musical instrument and they came over to discuss. This could be said free advertisement. You Xi Wang was unaware of all this and kept his focus limited on the computer and half of his mind on his sister who stood beside him. He was very vigilant ever since their car left the You Family mansion. Robert was also beside them but who knows what might these dark dwellers do once they are played with.

After You Xi Wang was done inputting the information regarding his idea the computer asked him if he would like to demonstrate his idea on a practical level too. He asked the attendant if he could use the big artificial pond in the middle of the garden, in front of the restaurant? The attendant called her higher-ups who agreed on the condition that if You Xi Wang fails to get the membership then he should bear all the expenses to restore the pond to its original state. 

You Xi Wang agreed with no hesitation. He walked up to the pond with his sister and he said to her, "Big sis, can you freeze this pond, make the ice thick enough so that if I jump on, it won't break." 

You Zhichi looked at him confused trying to figure out what good might come out from freezing the pond. Still, since it was her brother who asked, the Celestial Saintess cast an ice spell, freezing the whole pond with a thick layer of Ice. You Xi Wang then asked her to make a blunt ice blade on the soles of his shoes. The blade was made in a way that it won't cause friction when used to slide on the ice. 

You Xi Wang stood up holding his sister's hand and took a step on the ice pond. He bent his knees with his toes facing inward and balanced himself on the surface of the ice pond. Then he pushed off his feet and shifted his weight from left to right. The onlookers were surprised and then intrigued to try the same thing and understand how it feels to do something like this.

You Xi Wang placed both his feet on the surface and shifted his weight to a side and he looked like he was going to fall but on the contrary to this, he glided across the surface with the elegance of a go. His handsome face was lit up with a dazzling smile. He started moving fast and suddenly jumped up and turned his body in a full horizontal circle, landing on the floor with one foot and kept on sliding. This move was called a toe loop. 

Then he went on and performed a lutz, an axel, a flip, a salchow. All these moves looked very graceful, he stretched his hands and legs while landing or initiating the jump. The whole performance looked like a dance, his clothes were sticking close to his body to allow him less wind resistance, his hair fluttered on his face enhancing his appearance, he looked like an angel on the pond. Celestia was so excited that she was recording this whole performance with her Holo-Phone. The jumps were very difficult than they looked. After dancing for a couple of minutes, he came back to the side where his sister was standing. 

She held his hand and helped him come back to the normal ground. The whole crowd was stuck in a stupor. Even the breathing of the people was audible as if the breeze was blowing. Celestia started clapping and thunderous cheering followed her claps. The crowd began to applause in fervor. They all felt like a new world had opened to them after watching this performance. They came to respect this young boy. 

It was unknown who started the chant but the crowd was chanting, "ICE ANGEL! ICE ANGEL! ICE ANGEL!" You Xi Wang who heard this had a wry smile on his face, he was wondering if these people knew how cruel he could be to his enemies would they change his name to ICE DEMON.
