A Failure's hopeful Journey

You Zhichi had lifted the frozen wolf with her soul force and amidst the pack of wolves, she vanished along with the Alpha. The surrounding wolves lost their head and became anxious flies. This chaotic mess made things easier for the Phantom troop.

The celestial maiden came back to the center of the formation where You Xi Wang was sitting on a boulder. She dropped the frozen wolf on the ground and sat on the boulder alongside her brother. Since Neo was not busy with the Alpha, he was playing You Xi wang's role of free support with Allan. 

The boy could not stay behind when there was a fight going on. He would have dealt with the alpha with one move. It is not that he is stronger than You Zhichi but he is not soft and patient like her. The maestro asked his sister, "Any trouble/" 

You Zhichi shook her head and said, "Just a bit soft on opponents. Need to change that. Also, this mutt was rude to me. I will not take him as my equal beast companion. he is destined to be my pet that is all or better, let him go away, I will find a better one." 

Her words were all being comprehended by the Alpha Wolf, he was enraged but helpless. Never had he thought that he would be tied up in such a situation? He was the king of this area yet this female disdained to take him as an equal beast companion. First of all, what sort of wolf was this female. How could she walk on two legs and why did she use weapons like those ingrates? Can she not use her innate skills.

The wolf was immersed in thoughts and he had no idea that his brain was being read by You Xi Wang like an open book in a public library. The wolf and the celestial maiden were surprised when You Xi Wang chuckled. His chuckle was not soft but he laughed out so loud that all the people in the guard formation heard it. 

You Zhichi said, "Brat, are you laughing at me?" 

"Big sis, you take off your mask, this wolf thinks you are a wolf beast as well. Thus he called you female," said You Xi Wang hardly controlling his laughter.

You Zhichi was surprised even more and the wolf was thinking how could this guy read his thoughts, what sort of race was this. You Xi Wang took his mask off and said, "Yo, Tiberius. I am You Xi Wang, the people your clan is facing are my people, we are humans, or what you can call, outlanders." 

The alpha wolf was shocked to hear the person calling his name. He transmitted his thoughts, "How do you know my name? Who are you?"

You Xi Wang replied patiently, "I am a passer-by, your clan attacked my people so I decided to have them tamed. As for how do I know your name? Well, in short, I can read your mind and you just thought, 'WHAT SORT OF RACE IS THIS TO STAND IN FRONT OF ME THE GREAT TIBERIUS.'

The wolf was so scared that he almost peed right then and there but thankfully his body functions were all frozen. He could not believe that he would meet a bigger monster than himself. You Xi Wang again chuckled and said, "You are lucky that my two little disciples have not come or you would have begged me for death." 

In his heart, he apologized to Celestia and Lily for making them look like two monsters in front of this beast. That said, You Zhichi spoke, "Would you accept the seal with ease or shall I carve it on your forehead." and a carving knife appeared in her hand. 

The wolf was scared but he would never put down his dignity. He said with telepathy, "I accept that I was rude to you. I apologize for that, your mask and smell made me think you were a beast too. I did not mean to trample your dignity. When we beasts confront each other profanities come out naturally. However, this will not make me surrender to you. You are stronger than me. Go ahead and kill me, but being a pet is not what I will accept." 

You ZHichi raised her eyebrow as she spoke, "Good eloquence, however, what gives you the idea that you still have a choice?" 

Tiberius replied, "You are a being that believes in honor. You would have carved the seal on my head already otherwise. I respect your strength and will accept the bond of the equals but never will I be a pet." 

You Xi Wang nodded and said, "What he says is correct. However, Tiberius, you will need to tone down. Even if the bond of equals is set you will be the one following my sister and never shall you do something on your own. How about?" 

He was testing the beast. After all, the stubbornness came innately to them, so how could it be so easy to have them set a bond of equals? What if this guy made a mistake and perished? You Zhichi will perish along with him, so they had to make sure. 

Tiberius thought in silence for a bit, he said, "I understand what you mean. I agree, I have no family, this clan is all I have and I have no offspring as well. I am willing to follow her." 

The spirit beasts will die if they reach the age limit and could not breakthrough. This would be a natural death and will not affect the spiritual bond. Thus, the people could cast the bond of equals. You Zhichi saw You Xi Wang giving her a nod and engaged the bond of equals. 

After five minutes the bonding was complete and Tiberius was now a member of the team. Watching their leader surrender the rest of the wolves also succumbed and surrendered leaving only a few. They were all taken care of by Djal and his warriors. The people now had one wolf each.
